We are Ringier
2021 - 2024

2021
The Swiss Ringier AG becomes our sole owner
In accordance with the agreement announced in the summer of 2021 by the two parent companies of the Ringier Axel Springer Media AG joint venture, the Swiss Ringier AG and the German Axel Springer SE, by the beginning of 2022 the Swiss Ringier AG has acquired the shares of Axel Springer's interests in Central and Eastern Europe. Thus, by February 2022, the Swiss Ringier Group became the sole owner of our entire media offerings in Hungary. Although with a new name, Ringier Hungary Kft., we continue with an unchanged portfolio. As the 100% owner of profession.hu, the Ringier AG is still present on the market of Hungarian job portals.

New online magazine at Ringier Hungary: kiskegyed.hu is launched
In April 2022, kiskegyed.hu, the online edition of the more than 3-decade-old brand, women's weekly Kiskegyed, was launched, which offers useful, practical reading material for ladies' everyday life. The magazine-like content offer is complemented by opinion articles and blog-type columns from well-known authors. By the beginning of 2023, kiskegyed.hu had overtaken its direct competitor not only in terms of daily but also monthly real users, thus securing its third place in the women's online segment. Kiskegyed.hu reaches an average of 271,000 real users per day and 2.3 million real users per month.
The launch of digital sports media platform sportal.hu
In October 2022, we launched a new digital sports platform in Hungary, sportal.hu, in close cooperation with the Ringier Sports Media Group. Sportal.hu provides Hungarian sports fans with video-based news, commentaries, analyses, interviews, statistics and live results 24-7. In January 2023, with more than 1.1 million real users, sportal.hu finished among the TOP3 in the domestic digital sports segment in terms of total monthly reach.
We are handling the sales of our digital advertising surfaces in-house
We have closed our current sales house cooperation at the end of 2022, and from January 2023, we are handling the advertising sales of our entire online, print and BTL product portfolio in-house. In the future, Ringier Hungary’s sales team will manage the sales tasks of the advertising sites of blikk.hu, sportal.hu, kiskegyed.hu, glamour.hu, egészségkalauz.hu, and noizz.hu. The reason for the change in concept is that we want to strengthen our digital and programmatic sales capacities within the company in the long term. We consider this to be crucial in order to be able to represent the “digital first” approach that defines the publisher’s product development directions and each project in the field of advertising sales as well. Our digital portfolio attracts 4.2 million real users monthly.
We are building our own studio in our headquarters
Ringier Hungary is investing in a state-of-the-art video and podcast studio with minimal technical staff to handle its dynamically expanding video content production in-house. The technical space, similar to television studios, is located in the media company's headquarters in the XII district, and the publishing team is expanded with a three-person professional staff with TV experience.
