Blikk Enhances Its Editorial Team with New Professionals

Budapest, 23rd April 2025

Blikk, one of Hungary’s most visited news portals and leading national daily newspapers, has committed itself to a brand enhancement and the development of its content. On April 1, Zsolt Iván Nagy was appointed as the new editor-in-chief, and Péter Szigeti joined as the head of content development and innovation. Throughout April, the publisher of Blikk expanded the editorial team with additional professionals to assign dedicated leads to strengthen thematic contents.

The content offering by Blikk will place greater emphasis not only on public affairs but also on the economy, technology, sports, automobiles, and culture.

“It is not our goal to radically transform the nature of either the online or print publication by denying Blikk’s DNA. Rather, we aim to redefine and fine-tune our entertainment content, while increasing the share of public, economic, and cultural news across our content spectrum in which sports will also remain a key focus. Blikk.hu seeks to remain a leading news portal that reports quickly and comprehensibly on everything people care about, including, of course, important public events. Even in this regard, we maintain Blikk’s impartiality – our goal is to inform, not to influence” said editor-in-chief Zsolt Iván Nagy.

To enhance content diversity, the editorial leadership team was expanded in April with new colleagues. Levente Tóth, an economic journalist and former advisor to Bank360, has been leading the economy section of Blikk since mid-April. Nóra Pogonyi, former head of the magazine section at Index.hu, has taken over leadership of Blikk’s culture section. Sports journalist Tamás Szekeres has returned to head the sports desk from within the Ringier portfolio. Blikk’s new art director, Tibor Uhrin, also joined in recent weeks, following the retirement of his predecessor, Attila Fekete. The approximately 90-member integrated editorial staff continues to be supported by Blikk’s former middle managers, including deputy editors-in-chief Dávid Szirmay, Gábor Tibay, and Vince Kovács, as well as lead editors Lajos Fekete, Zoltán Halas, Erika Kiss, Zoltán Várhelyi, Zsuzsa Járomi, and video creative producer László Marczali.

As part of Blikk’s repositioning, the brand’s visual identity will also be strengthened under the leadership of Eleonóra Kiss, head of the news media division. The fresh design and its accompanying marketing campaign are set to launch in early May.
