Blikk

www.blikk.hu

Blikk is an entertaining daily newspaper, supplying a large readership with information from a wide variety of diversified fields and useful services to ease everyday life.

It communicates short, sharp pieces about events taking place in Hungary and the world at large in an impartial way free from any political bias, yet it also particularises the readers’ life, desires and feelings. The title is based on light toned, entertaining articles.

It devotes considerable space to the events of the celebrity world and is also abundant in sports news.

The paper places much emphasis on typographical elements: the overall image of the paper is its most important feature, served by big-size, colour photos and info-graphics. Services also gain ground along with information supply: technical advisors give regular answers to the letters received electronically or by post or the phone calls.

Blikk was founded in Hungary by Ringier Verlag in 1993. When Blikk first came out, the Hungarian tabloid market consisted of five titles. But the tabloid market is characteristically in a state of flux: tabloid titles fell by the wayside, were re-instigated, new investors appeared, then disappeared, titles merged as the years went by. Today Blikk is a market leader: not only in its specific field but also in the Hungarian market of dailies.

The editorial staff of nearly 100 delivers the latest delicacies daily to its mainly provincial readership with a secondary school education.
