Ringier Hungary announced the winners of the Ringier-ARC Billboard competition
2009-08-27
This year, Ringier Hungary organised the Ringier-ARC Billboard competition for the second time and the 20th anniversary of the pulling down of the Iron Curtain coincides with this year’s call announced by Ringier Hungary.
The major ARC Billboard Exhibition and Competition has been organised each year in Hungary since 2000, the basic concept of which is that, beyond advertising objectives, billboards can also carry public messages. Each year, the theme of the call is a problem relevant to the entire society.
This year, Ringier Hungary made this initiative an international event by extending the scope of the call to include all Ringier employees of the European countries.
Applications were evaluated by a professional judging panel of the heads of the Ringier Hungary photo departments and art directors, as well as ARC representatives, who made the following decision:
Milan Švolík won the first prize and the opportunity to sponsor the communication campaign of a non-profit organisation with surface for advertisements in the value of HUF 5,000,000 (30.000CHF).
“I'd like to support SOS Kinderdorf International, because they support the children who lost their original home, parents. Childhood is the most important thing in our life. The keystone for the future.” – said Milan Švolík, who is a member of Ringier Slovakia team since 2004. He is responsible for layout of our print titles, design, print advertising and mercantile prints. Title of his billboard is 1989 – Year of Liberty.
Karin Strebel, employee of Ringier Switzerland won the second prize, who can also choose a non-profit organization and sponsor it's communication campaign with surface for advertisements in the value of HUF3,000,000 (17.000CHF)
She chose the WWF - World Wide Fund for Nature, which has the mission to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. She also works for the company since 2004, first on Advertisement Service and Media-Marketing Service Department, and since 2007 on Graphic Department of Schweizer Illustrierte. The title of her billboard is Together.
