Ringier 175

2008-03-28

Beyond the 175th anniversary of Ringier, Ringier Hungary is also celebrating its 15th jubilee in 2008.

The 14th Press Photo exhibition held at the Hungarian National Museum was the opening event of the jubilee year; Ringier Publishing was the main sponsor of the event. The photos on exhibit in the special exhibition hall present a retrospection of the past 15 years of the Publishing Company in a series of photos.
The exhibition was officially opened at the Hungarian National Museum on 28 April. The unique perspective and diverse choice of themes guarantees that the photos on show will attract the attention of the audience also in terms of their artistic value.

Events in Hungary

The official Ringier anniversary events were held on 10-11 April 2008 in Budapest.
From lead type to pixel – the life of a company and the history of an industrial sector
The film presenting an overview of the past 175 years, as well as the book „Ringier and the people”  by Karl Lüönd was presented on 10 April at the press conference presenting annual results. The book presents an entertaining account of the history of the international multi-media empire that began its operations in a tiny printing workshop 175 years back. This richly illustrated 521-page volume packed with information is the „official Ringier Curriculum Vitae” and might be just as fresh and exciting as a good novel or an entertaining newspaper article. The author quotes astounding cases taking place in the history of the Swiss press that are equally interesting from a social, as well as economic development perspective.
On the same evening, the Publishing Company had invited its Hungarian clients, partners, as well as representatives of the Hungarian business world to a gala dinner. An official event commemorating the jubilee year was held for Ringier employees on 11 April 2008.
Diverse events have been organised on the occasion of the jubilee year, such as, prize-games, competitions, as well as cultural events, the objective of which is to make the celebration something to remember for everyone.
